In an atmosphere filled with patriotism, the Embassy of Algeria in Windhoek commemorated, this day, the 71st anniversary of the outbreak of the Glorious Liberation Revolution on the First of November 1954.
This ceremony, organized under the slogan "A Message for Generations," took place in the presence of the Embassy staff as well as representatives of the Algerian community residing in Namibia.
The ceremony began with the raising of the national flag to the melody of the national anthem, followed by the laying of a wreath of flowers and the recitation of "Al-Fatiha" (the opening chapter of the Quran) for the pure souls of our righteous martyrs.
On this occasion, His Excellency the Ambassador of Algeria in Windhoek, Mr. Abdelkrim Dief, delivered a speech highlighting the sublime meanings and deep lessons of this anniversary. His Excellency noted that the Revolution of the First of November was not merely a national event to reclaim sovereignty, but rather a beacon that illuminated the paths of liberation for oppressed and colonized peoples around the world, and a living example of sacrifice and devotion.
The Ambassador also evoked the immense sacrifices made by the martyrs of national duty, who gave their precious all and irrigated the pure land of Algeria with their sacred blood, as the price for the nation's freedom and the restoration of its full sovereignty.
In concluding his speech, His Excellency the Ambassador reminded of the collective responsibility to safeguard the trust and preserve the national memory. He emphasized the necessity of working to transmit the "November Spirit" and its noble values to the rising generations, especially the sons and daughters of the Algerian community abroad, to ensure the continuity of the message for which millions of Algerian men and women sacrificed.
