The Embassy of Algeria in Windhoek commemorated today, Sunday, July 05, 2026, the sixty-fourth (64th) Anniversary of Independence Day, under the theme"Independence is the Trust of Generations." The event was attended by a gathering of members of our national community along with the embassy staff.

During this glorious celebration, the national anthem was played and Al-Fatiha was recited in memory of the pure souls of our valiant martyrs, who sacrificed their lives so that our country may live free, lofty, and proud. The occasion also witnessed an address delivered by the Ambassador of Algeria to Namibia, Mr. Abdelkrim Diaf, in which he recalled the significance of reclaiming glorious national independence, achieved after heavy epic sacrifices and continuous arduous struggles by successive generations of male and female martyrs, the lineage of a proud and resilient people.

The Ambassador of Algeria also praised the tremendous strides our beloved country is making toward progress and advancement in all fields, and the continuous achievements accomplished in recent years, highlighting the State's excellent care and improved services for our national community abroad, while calling upon members of the community to strongly engage in the path of national development for a leading and victorious Algeria.

Furthermore, interactive activities and competitions on the history of the glorious liberation revolution and Independence Day were organized, in which children of the Algerian community in Namibia participated, concluding with the presentation of symbolic gifts that left a positive resonance among them.

Long live Algeria, free, independent, and proud; glory and eternity to our valiant martyrs.
