Commemorating the National Day of the Algerian Muslim Scouts (May 27, 1941) under the motto "Scouting is a School of Patriotism", the Embassy of Algeria in Windhoek observes this glorious historical milestone that commemorates the martyrdom of the founder of the scouting movement, the heroic martyr Mohamed Bouras.
This national day holds a profound symbolism in the course of our proud people's struggle, as the leader Mohamed Bouras was executed by the French colonizer on May 27, 1941, in recognition of his tireless patriotic work in instilling the values of liberation, defending the national identity, and igniting the spirit of struggle within the rising youth.
The Algerian Muslim Scouts has proven, throughout various stages of history, to be truly a school of patriotism, from which the vanguards of freedom fighters and leaders of the glorious liberation revolution graduated, and it continues today its noble educational and national role in safeguarding the youth and qualifying young talents to contribute to the building and prosperity of the New Algeria.
