At the invitation of the Namibian National Olympic Committee (NNOC-CGA), His Excellency Mr. Abdelkrim Diaf, Ambassador of Algeria to Namibia, participated as a guest of honor in the opening ceremony of the General Assembly meeting of Zone VI of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA), held in Windhoek on March 7, 2026. This regional event was also attended by Mr. Mustapha Berraf, President of ANOCA and member of the International Olympic Committee, under whose leadership Algeria spearheads efforts to develop the Olympic Movement in Africa.
On the sidelines of the event, His Excellency the Ambassador held fruitful discussions with Her Excellency Dr. Sanet Steenkamp, Namibia's Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, focusing on prospects for bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, which will further strengthen the historical bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two sister nations.
